With great endorsement and community support Woolwich (Elmira/St.Jacobs area) is launching for the first time ever a special needs hockey team this coming September.
The team is for players age 6 and up with developmental delays. No skating or previous hockey experience is required. Weekly ice time is being scheduled now at the Woolwich Memorial Centre for one hour each week. Exact schedule details will be available soon. Players do require full hockey equipment. We have a team of energetic and caring coaches as well as on ice volunteers to assist so that players of all skill levels will have a safe place to play, learn, develop and make friends. Joining the Woolwich Sun Rays will give special needs players a way to join a team and wear a jersey, just like their school mates and siblings.
If your child or someone you know is interested in learning more and/or registering to join the team, please contact Julie Jamieson at 519-664-3555 or Diane Bauman-MacLachlan at 519-669-2508 or visit the Woolwich Minor Hockey website at www.woolwichminorhockey.ca for the registration form.
